Tales from the kitchen 2

Jussi brought some belly of pork back from Thurso and demanded Boston Baked Beans. But we didn't have any molasses. So I used a couple of lumps of 70% dark chocolate instead. Worked a treat. We had cabbage with it and Jussi made some delicious cheese scones.

But I still look at Pedi's blog almost daily. Her food seems so sunny and warm!

why, thanks for checking in on the blog, much appreciated! Have been feeling a little pathetic recently, what with the world food crisis going on, and I'm whining about failed French omelettes and Italian chocolates. Honestly, I need to simplify a little.
Am still intrigued by your lifestyle change, for want of a better word. (Did you see the last Michael Pollan article in the New York Times? Very a propos...) Actually went back to the beginning of your blog to research the historical foundations of such a momentous transformation, but you kinda take a lot for granted. You know, the basics of how to escape the clutches of the working world...I guess living in a civilised country helps. Here in the Wild West, if I don't work, I don't have even have health insurance...

Big questions!
I'll need to work on the answers - hopefully I'll be able to get something written and posted in a couple of days.....

Looked for the Michael Pollan article - which one? I found Unhappy Meals but I've a feeling you meant something more recent?
